More than 70 percent of the world crop comes from the Black Sea coastal area of Turkey and agricultural areas outside of Istanbul.


In a typical year Turkey will harvest about 560,000 tonnes in-shell. Other growing areas include Italy, USA, Spain, Azerbaijan and Georgia.


Of all the nut types on offer, hazelnuts are the most widely sought by confectioners, chocolatiers and patisseries’ as the flavour developed during roasting has particular affinity with chocolate and chocolate preparations and is used for count lines, cereal bars, spreads and pralines alike.

Whole hazelnuts are sized by the diameter of the kernel, typically 11-13mm or 13-15mm.

Processed Hazelnut Products

We can offer a range of processed hazelnuts such as laser inspected, roasted, nibbed/chopped, ground or made into hazelnut butter. These hazelnut products are used as ingredients in food manufacture, sauces, ready meals, snacks and bars but particularly in confectionery and baking.
