Hot off the peanut presses: History made today at Petrow; first 100% natural peanut butter launched
Wednesday 2nd December is a special day in Petrow’s history, as the first new peanut butter products rolls off the line.
As sales are still soaring of peanut butter with nutty spread mad Brits – Petrow’s new 100% natural peanut butter line is now up and running, and ready to take orders,.
The line, installed in Petrow’s Perivale plant, rolls out smooth and crunchy peanut butter, made only with natural ingredients. The new natural nutty treat is available in both glass and plastic jars, in two sizes with more formats planned for branded and own label products!
It certainly looks like the nation’s love of nuts and nut butters is set to continue to rise!
The nation’s favourite baking show, The Great British Bake-Off 2020 backs up this rising trend for healthier home cooked food. Viewings rose by 1 million since last year with the highest number of fans yet, with many baking along at home and sharing their bakes on social media channels.
According to Women’s Health the top trend to look out for this year is ‘more plant-based foods’ and more healthy vegan proteins. Peanuts contain about 24% protein, making them a rich source, like many other nuts, seeds and pulses.
We are also proud to support the planet; palm oil farming contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and is doing irreparable damage to our already declining remote forests, which are rapidly disappearing. Endangered Orangutans are now at risk of extinction as their natural habitat slowly shrinks.
We don’t use any palm oil in our products like some nut butters do, so you can buy from us safe in the knowledge that you’re making sustainable and environmental choices.
